Writing essays is not particularly difficult if you follow the basic format, which is a simple basic structure that guides one when writing an essay. This structure consists of simple steps, which are straightforward and easy to understand. The process of writing an essay requires one to have a topic in mind to begin with that is if a topic has not been assigned. Notably the purposes of writing an essay could either be that one is arguing a viewpoint or opinion or simply giving an explanation of a procedure that is essential in order to complete or meet an objective or goal. Once the writer has a topic to work on, subsequently they will begin to organize and outline the ideas about the topic.

To write my essay, I will begin by highlighting the main points, keeping in mind that if I am arguing a point of view I need to note down a set of arguments that will persuade the audience, alternatively if I am simply trying to elaborate on a particular issue then I will give a general overview of the topic. The other important step to take is to write a thesis statement, which includes two main segments; the first segment explains the topic, it simply points out the main issues, which are the basis to which I write my essay while the second segment explains the intent of the essay, that is, it explains the main ideas that are further discussed in the essay.

So far, we have established that to write my essay, I need to come up with a topic first if non-has been assigned; secondly, I need to outline the ideas about the topic in mind beginning with the main points, followed by subset points or arguments that will help put my point across. Thirdly I need to write a thesis statement.
